An Ocel Builders contractor greeting a homeowner at the door

About Us

Helping Minnesotans stay home since 2012

Ocel Builders is the accessibility arm of CAPS, LLC — a Minnesota-licensed contractor dedicated to one thing: helping people live safely and independently in the homes they love.

Who we are

Founded in September 2012, Ocel Builders grew out of more than three decades of construction experience and a simple belief: no one should have to leave their home just because of a staircase, a step, or a bathtub wall. We specialize in accessibility and aging-in-place modifications — stair lifts, home elevators, platform lifts, wheelchair ramps, and accessible bathrooms — for Minnesota's aging and disability communities.

Why families trust us

  • Certified Aging-in-Place Specialists (CAPS). We're trained through the NAHB to design homes that work for real bodies and real lives — now and as needs change.
  • Fully licensed. We hold a Minnesota Elevator License and a Minnesota Builders License, so we can legally and safely install everything from a ramp to a permitted, inspected elevator.
  • A registered Medicaid provider. With an active NPI and UMPI, we bill Minnesota DHS waiver programs directly and coordinate with county case managers — see our funding page.
  • Local and accountable. We're based in Farmington and serve the Twin Cities metro ourselves — the person who assesses your home is on the crew that finishes it.

How we work

Every project starts with a free, no-pressure in-home assessment. We listen, measure, and recommend the solution that actually fits your home, your body, and your budget — even when that's the least expensive option. Then we build it to code, pass the inspection, and stand behind it with service and warranty support.

Be Safe, Be Home, Be Happy. That's not just our tagline — it's the outcome we're hired to deliver.
